2026 Race Class Updates

Both the AMA and Stoney Lonesome have made important updates to our hare scramble race classes effective beginning the 2026 season.

Peewee Race Classes

The PW Junior Class (Row 4) has been updated to only include riders ages 4-5. This is a change from the previous age range which allowed riders up to age 6.

Mini Race Classes

New Supermini Age Limit

The AMA has changed the maximum age for Supermini race classes to 15 years old (a change from the previous allowance for riders up to 16).

Mini Trail Rider Class

We have had a number of parents ask about adding a Trail Rider class to the Mini classes which is now available for all 2026 races. Requirements and details:

  • Age range: 7-15 years old
  • Engine size: 2-Stroke 59cc - 112cc; 4-Stroke 59cc - 150cc
  • Front wheel: min. 14", max. 19"
  • Rear wheel: min. 12", max. 16"

Big Bike Race Classes

Big Bike Women's Class

The AMA has lowered the minimum displacement for Women's Class (only) to 85cc or greater. The age requirements remain the same as all other Big Bike classes.
